When I was introduced to Kellsie and Preston for the first time, it was so clear that they are more than just engaged to be married. They are joyful. They are best friends. They laugh more than they speak. They celebrate the little things. They have magnetic personalities. They are old souls. And probably the most obvious thing about them, is that at the end of the day, what matters is they are together. So, when we traveled down to Hocking Hills State Park in Logan, Ohio, followed by some time at their alma mater at Ohio University (as well as my and my husband’s alma mater!), it was like watching their love story come alive in the place they first met.
Kellsie and Preston met in Ohio University’s marching band, The Marching 110, so the minute we booked their wedding, Athens was immediately at the top of our list for engagement photos! On the way down, we stopped briefly at Hocking Hills (about 30 minutes north of Athens) for some breathtaking photos in the forest. What’s cool about Hocking Hills, is Preston actually worked for Hocking Hills Canopy Tours this past summer, so the photos made for the perfect background. If you haven’t made a trip to visit Hocking Hills, you need to go! There are so many beautiful hiking trails, caves, cliffs, and waterfalls to see!
Right after we finished photos there, we headed down to Athens for more fun at Ohio University. We went all over, taking in our memories and creating new ones in Kellsie and Preston’s favorite spots! We started at their apartment for some special photos featuring their two kitties! I’m all about pets included in ANY type of session, and their photos speak for themselves as to why! (We may have to come down again just for another glamour session!) Another definite highlight was when we took photos at Peden Stadium right on the Bobcat! We had the entire stadium to ourselves, which made for such unique and beautiful shots. We also headed behind the Vernon Alden Library where Preston asked Kellsie to be his girlfriend (d’awwww!), in Emeriti Park near the walkway and pond, on College Green (my favorite spot ever!) where the sun set through the leafy green trees, and finally, amongst the cherry trees by the bike trail and river.
I seriously loved every second with Kellsie and Preston, and can’t wait for their wedding next September! Thanks for such an amazing time!
